Ⲁⲙⲁⲛ is a collection inspired by the Nile River and our relationship as Egyptians to it. For thousands of years the Nile moulded and formed our way of life, traditions, and culture and is very much embedded in every aspect of our lives from the Delta to Lake Nasser.

Ⲁⲙⲁⲛ -a play on the words “safety” & “security” as well as being the Nubian word for the River Nile (Ⲁⲙⲁⲛ ⲇⲁⲱⲟ̅ⲩ̅ (Aman daōo̅u̅))- is a collection recreating my journey across the Nile visiting the cities of Ras El Bar (Delta), Qursaya Island (Giza), Sohag (Upper Egypt) and Aswan (Upper Egypt) in physical garments that you can carry with you as tokens of our culture & identity deeply woven into the colours, embroidery and designs of our pieces. The Capsule is also raising awareness on water pollution, the climate crisis and the changing tides of our future as humanity with water resources under grave threat!
